SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT IN REMOTE VILLAGE OF PANGI, TIBET

Some of the local children who will benefit form the school.

Local Tibetan children met on school planning visit

The first time Rob & Jo went to Tibet to climb Cho Oyo, they were struck by the wonderful Tibetan people. Although they are incredibly tough managing to survive in such a harsh environment, they are also some of the most gentle and humble people they had ever met. They live at a subsistence level and consequently education often falls by the wayside. Russell Brice mountain guide and owner of Himalayan Experience (www.himex.com) has worked with the local Tibetans in the Everest region for years and as a consequence has been able to understand and target their needs with specific projects. Building a school is one of these such projects and the one that we chose to support with our ‘Everest Appeal’
